He Yan returns home victorious after many years at war. Her father makes an outrageous request. Xiao Jue fails to defend his father's honor.

After a brief scuffle in the hot springs, He Yan escapes, but not without rousing Xiao Jue's suspicions. He orders Shen Han to spread rumors.

4. Episode 4

He Yan receives ointment — the same Xiao Jue once gave her at Xianchang Academy — but she's too focused on joining the elite battalion to notice.

He Yan suspects Hu Yuanzhong is a foreign spy but can't confirm it. After a masked assassin attacks, she finds Ma Damei dead and becomes the main suspect.
